Your brain has become used to nicotine and smoking. Not only are you physically addicted but psychologically. The urge to smoke will come and go as your body goes through withdrawals and you will encounter other triggers to smoke when you come across various situations or feelings.
You have connected people, places, and things with smoking and it is these things you need to be aware of and plan for. Take each minute one at a time, be cautious, and remember that the craving will pass. After a few months the cravings associated with the triggers should disappear.
The most important thing to remember is why you are quitting and stick to your plan. Don’t give in to the temptations and don’t do and go places that will trigger you. Avoid people, places and things that bring out the desire to smoke.
