When you stop smoking you will find that there is this little voice in your head. You probably have noticed it before and you likely ignored it but after you stop smoking this voice somehow is going to have power and influence over what you do.
The voice is the strongest the first week or so – saying, “Smoke just one, it won’t hurt you.” Over and over again you will hear it promising that you will feel good and that you can just simply start over again.
The honest truth is once you have “just one” you open the door for this to happen again and again. Just one does hurt and it will keep you smoking for a long-time. Some people have quit then they listen to the voice and only having just one are still smokers years later.
Don’t listen to the voice – remind yourself that one will hurt you and that if you do smoke it will only make quitting that much harder.
