Help Prevent Premature Death

With the many years of smoking you probably are wondering if you can repair the damage that has been done. It is certain that if you continue to smoke that you run a good chance of premature death. The best thing that you can do is to quit smoking and begin to exercise routinely. We all know that life is uncertain and there are no sure things except for death and taxes but studies have shown that there are things that can improve the quality of our lives and getting regular exercise is one of them. Most smokers are very inactive and by removing the bad habit that is killing you and starting a new habit that can help prolong your life and repair some of the damage.

There is strong scientific evidence that shows a reduction in premature death with regular physical exercise.

There aren’t many lifestyle choices that have an effect on mortality like smoking and exercise. It has been estimated that people who are physically active for approximately 7 hours a week have a 40 percent lower risk of dying early than those who are active for less than 30 minutes a week.

A person doesn’t necessarily need to do high amounts of vigorous activity to live longer. Studies show that by doing 150 minutes at moderate intensity aerobic physical activity a week can also substantially lower your risk.

Of course there are many uncertainties and we all have our time to die but there are things that you can do to improve the quality of your life and live longer. No matter who you are, male or female, young or old, you can benefit from quitting smoking and getting physically active.
